MEET THE MILLINER Jacqueline Kolbe
Jacqueline Kolbe is an Authentic Milliner with over three decades of experience in the artistry of millinery and hat-making. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of techniques and styles, reflecting both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design sensibilities.

Authentic Millinery
Jacqueline Kolbe is a self-taught milliner devoted to the timeless art of traditional hat-making. Her journey began with a deep curiosity and respect for the craftsmanship of milliners from the past.
Rather than learning from formal instruction, ( which was scarce when she started her hat making journey ) Jacqueline immersed herself in the study of vintage hats and trims, carefully taking them apart to unravel the secrets of their construction. Through this hands-on exploration, she discovered the intricate techniques and artistry that defines true and authentic millinery.
For over 30 years, Jacqueline has worked in the film industry in South Africa, where she was handled and studied a remarkable array of historic hats and headwear. These pieces became her silent teachers, offering invaluable lessons in design, structure, and detail.
Today every hat Jacqueline creates for her Millinery Collection is meticulously handcrafted-never touched by mass production machinery, sewing machines, or blocking machinery.
She crafts all her trims, flowers and feather sprays from scratch, ensuring that each piece is a unique work of art. Jacquelines hats are a tribute to authenticity, tradition and the enduring beauty of handmade craftsmanship.
A Millinery Member of the Slow Fashion Movement
Through her creative work, Jacqueline upholds the traditions of true millinery and has always been closely aligned with the principles of the slow fashion movement-emphasizing quality, craftsmanship and sustainability over speed and quantity.
She continues to follow the principles of historical milliners, who were artisans that poured their skill and creativity into every hat, making each one a personal expression of style and unique artistry.
